A sense of belonging is important to people’s health, happiness, and well-being. In organizations, it also affects engagement, performance, and retention. In this training, we empower people with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate and contribute to inclusive, high-performing work environments. Present the science of inclusion and belonging, emphasizing how belonging is a universal need, and why belonging uncertainty can threaten health and well-being while undermining individual and organizational performance.
Consider key contexts where barriers to belonging can emerge for new employees, employees from underrepresented groups, and employees who are facing challenges. Engage in reflection and brainstorming on how these barriers may be showing up in the organization.
Discuss strategies to promote belonging, considering the norms, processes, and culture of the organization. Importantly, we focus on strategies employees can use to promote belonging for themselves and for others.
Meet the facilitators behind our workshops. They are interdisciplinary experts who bring research, empathy, and real-world insight to every workshop.
