Designing an effective, inclusive hiring process is critical to building a diverse, high-performance organization. Paradigm has analyzed hiring practices across hundreds of organizations and has identified a range of barriers that undermine inclusive hiring. Our Effective & Inclusive Hiring workshop is designed to equip hiring managers, interviewers, and recruiters to address these barriers by using evidence-based strategies to manage unconscious bias and create a more inclusive candidate experience.

Introduction

Discuss the science of unconscious bias and how it undermines effective, inclusive hiring outcomes.

Top-of-the Funnel

Consider how bias can show up in job descriptions, career sites, and sourcing strategies, undermining inclusion and influencing the diversity of candidates.

Action planning: Articulate key competencies for an open role, and develop strategies to attract a more diverse candidate pool.

Assessing Candidates

Explore how bias can affect the selection process—from reviewing resumes to conducting interviews—undermining objectivity and creating a less inclusive candidate experience.

Action planning: Create interview questions and rubrics to evaluate competencies and mitigate bias.

Debriefs

Consider how disparities in our evaluations limit objectivity in debriefs and final decisions.

Action planning: Design norms to limit group-based biases and encourage accountability in candidate debriefs.
