When people have a sense of voice, they can contribute their best ideas and teams can benefit from a diversity of perspectives. In this training, we consider the benefits of creating a culture of voice and a sense of psychological safety: the belief that a team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking. We share specific examples of barriers to voice, and offer actions participants can take to find their own voice, help amplify the voices of others, and foster a psychologically safe team environment where everyone feels they can speak up.
