Webinar Recap: Creating Your 2021 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy
2020 has dramatically shifted the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) landscape. After the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Rayshard Brooks, more Americans than ever before are recognizing racial injustice in the U.S.The coronavirus has had a disproportionate negative impact on Black and Latinx people, is causing women to drop out of the workforce at 4x the rate of men, and has necessitated a rapid shift to remote work that has significant DEI implications.
Fortunately, organizations have been investing in DEI at unprecedented rates. With 2021 rapidly approaching, businesses that remain committed to creating a more inclusive future need to take a strategic approach that both builds on the momentum of this year and accounts for the significant hurdles that remain in front of us.
In mid-October, Paradigm’s Joelle Emerson, Dr. Evelyn Carter, and Courri Brady hosted a webinar to provide a framework for creating that strategy, designed to drive impact by addressing DEI at the structural and individual levels. Download to the webinar to learn more about:
- Setting strategic priorities: what are the three key considerations that should guide your 2021 plan?
- Driving systemic change: how can organizations examine their people systems, policies, and processes, then embed equity and inclusion into how decisions get made and how work gets done?
- Enabling individual success: how can organizations create learning journeys for their workforce, and sustain learning in between trainings?
- Communicating your plan: how can DEI and HR leaders get buy in from key stakeholders, and ensure that their workforce is confident in their employer’s commitment to DEI?
