Before founding Paradigm, Joelle was a civil rights lawyer. Joelle’s legal background highlighted the consequences that can result from companies failing to consider diversity and inclusion early, and inspired her to found Paradigm.

It’s hard to believe it’s been more than a year since we launched Paradigm REACH! When we built REACH, our goal was to give our clients an eLearning solution that allowed them to engage their employees in self-paced, continuous diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) learning journeys. Little did we know, this year’s rapid shift to remote work would make the need for asynchronous learning more important than ever before.

In 2020, I am proud to share that more than 100 organizations used Paradigm REACH to equip tens of thousands of learners with the skills required to foster more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces. We also introduced a new platform for delivering our content, making REACH more accessible for organizations of all sizes.

Here are just a few of the things learners have said about REACH this year:

  • “I have to confess to being a bit of a corporate training skeptic. So when our team let me know we’d [decided to roll out Paradigm REACH], I wasn’t sure what to expect. I admit that I did not expect a succinct, nuanced, and thoughtful exploration of both the ways that unconscious bias undermines the best of intentions, and the easy, straightforward ways that we can overcome it. I was struck by the degree to which bias can be proven through repeatable psychological experiments, and the degree to which small changes in how we approach situations can suppress bias. [Paradigm REACH] is simply excellent.”
  • “This was a thoughtful course which allowed me to focus on some key fundamentals to good team interaction, [and gave me a] better leadership perspective to allow more input from all members of the team I lead and interact with daily. This was also helpful in how I think about interacting more effectively with my customer base.”
  • “This course was wonderful. I truly feel empowered after completing this. Empowered to use this information out of the office to have those uncomfortable conversations with family/friends who do not have an inclusive mindset. I feel the knowledge I have gained from this will help me both personally and professionally. Thank you!”
  • “This course made me reflect upon my own actions and behavior, and is extremely relevant in our organization. There were some eye openers as well as some actionable items that I’m excited to introduce in my daily work. This is a very valuable course bridging between cultures in which small steps can make a tremendous difference. Thanks for providing this course.”

I’m inspired to see the impact REACH is having with learners. After taking a REACH course, 94% of learners understood how to use various strategies to foster a more inclusive workplace, 88% felt confident in their employers commitment to DEI, and 83% would recommend REACH to a colleague.

I am confident that the next year will bring even more exciting REACH updates, and I can not wait to share those updates with you. In the meantime, if you would like to take a free REACH trail, you can sign up here.
